Howdy, all. It sure has been a minute.
When I first started this site, it had a different name and a different look. I was in college, full of piss and vinegar, and convinced that I would be taking the writing world by storm. Working as a dishwasher,I thought “The Dishwasher Memoirs” was just about the cleverest thing anybody had ever come up with. Honestly, I still do.
But, as what so often happens, I burnt out—figuratively and literally. I found myself in the midst of a fun little downward spiral, dropping out of college and moving 100 miles away from familiarity. That may not be far for some, but where I come from, leaving isn’t common. I entered a new profession that ate up most of my time, and became reacquainted with depression. Worst of all, aside from a little podcast project that was intermittent at best, my writing stopped.
As I come upon the back half of my 20s, though, I’ve felt something akin to a spark re-emerge inside of me. With that, I’d like to welcome you all to Tire Tech Tales. This is essentially an online portfolio for any and all of my work, fiction and otherwise. There are links to The Lost Signal Podcast— my Audioplay series that allows me to self-publish my short stories— as well as a litany of reviews, freelance work, and fiction writing samples.
After years of burn out, I’m not sure what will come of this. What I do know is that having a website never hurts. For those of you that are new, welcome. For those that have stuck around all this time, thank you.
Talk to you soon,
/TGM/
