A Scene: The Ferris Wheel of Hillyard

There’s a rusty, rustic old Ferris wheel in the Hillyard neighborhood of Spokane. According to a local news piece a few years ago, the Ferris wheel has been around since 1974, and the dark house (or saloon, rather) next to it has been standing since the 1800s. The owner said several years back that he planned to get it running and turn the house into a bed and breakfast, but as of today it still seems to be deserted, rusting quietly away behind a slew of antique shops and Knick-knackeries.

Fun fact: it was also featured in the Syfy series “Z-Nation.
