My name is Tilsen Mulalley, and I’m a writer; At least, that’s what I tell people. That sounds better than College Dropout with a neat hobby. I actually pay the rent as an Underwater Ceramics Technician (That’s a dishwasher for the laymen.) Is it a glamorous job? No. Is it a fun job? Also no. But, it is an easy job, and it does give a guy plenty of time to think. In fact, I’d say it is hand’s down the best job for somebody with a wandering mind.
I’ve learned two things as a writer: Always jot down your thoughts, and do whatever you can to get your name out there. So, think of this as a sort of blog/portfolio-booster; a brain-dump if you will, running the gamut on topics ranging from travel to pop-culture, to everything in between.
I won’t lie to you guys, this idea is still in a rough stage. But, it’s better to get something out and into the public eye instead of spending so much time perfecting it that it never gets published. So, bear with me through this initial period as I refine the style and identity of this project. Look for a new post each Monday, and possibly an extra one or two throughout the week, depending on time constraints. More than anything, I’d like the content purveyed here is well-edited and quality, which takes time.
Now, here comes the shameless plug: To paraphrase a quote from my favorite overrated novel, The Catcher in the Rye, “All writers are whores.” With that in mind, It’d mean quite a bit to me if you’d follow The Dishwasher Memoirs via the email sign up at the bottom of the page. Every reader is important.
Glad you’re here, and welcome to the Dishpit.
